I mean this with all due respect: where do you guys park? At home, I park in a secured parking deck. At work, I park in a less-secure parking deck. Both decks have their fair share of nice cars: Masers, Porsches, etc.

I became an expert over a 3 week period. 2 sets 3 weeks. I have to say it definatly peedme off.
The best part is for the 2nd set is I had a $400 addition to the factory alarm added (GPS) that alerts
me in my 5 story Condo that the lights are being tampered with. Well a 3 am the alarm goes off just in time for me to run to the window to watch a car speed out of the parking lot with the 2nd set!!!!
Solution ?? Simple. I bought an extra headlight wrench and yes the lights go in and out on a daily basis.

CJC: That is insane! What a pain to have to go through that everyday, just to enjoy your freedom, pride and joy.

Looks like someone in that area can make big profits selling component marking technology such as DataDots (link) (No affiliation). I lived in Mexico City for many years, and this technology is used extensively over there these days.

Hello guys, not a 997 owner but a 987 instead. Got my headlight stolen about 4 months ago (no xenon). Idi0ts took a halogen lamp and left me with 2500+ in damage.

nkhalidi,

This is where it happened to me: The first time, boxster S, it was in the parking garage of the Menlo Financial Center in Brickell Avenue...nice building, security, etc. That was my office parking. The second time it was in my condo parking...again, security, one of the best buildings in South Beach, etc...my point is that it can happen to you anywhere and the thieves usually look in high Porsche density areas...i.e., nice locations.
