Default Newbie...

Hello all....new to this board. I've been reading posts and searching this board quite a bit over the past few weeks prior to the purchase of my 997. First, I would like to thank you all for providing such a wealth of knowledge for people like myself. I am new to 911 ownership and hope that in the future I can add some value to others who come here for insight. My past two cars were a 2002 boxter and a 2004 e46 M3. I track occationally and like to engage in spirited driving in the right environments (not a fan of stop-light derbys). I have wanted a 911 since I was a kid and now I have to keep myself from sleeping in the garage (the wife would not be pleased. Anyway, after searching long and hard, I purchased my car from an older gentlemen who put on 1,900 miles on the car in ten months of ownership. He had incurred an ankle injury and was not enjoying the shifting experience any longer. The car is like new and and even smells new. I think looking at it in his garage sadened him to the point of quoting me a price that I didn't thik I would see on a car this clean. Anyway I stroked a check and never looked back. I purchased membership on Rennlist today but I guess I have to wait until tomarrow to receive my # (I will post pics then). Here are the details after a couple of personalizations:

2005 C2
GT Silver metalic
Black Full Leather
Supple seats
Multifunction Wheel
BOSE
Navigation
Sport Chrono package
19" S Wheels w/ colored crests
Power & Heated seats
Formula One tint
H&R Springs
Fabspeed intake
Rear Wiper
Clear corner lenses
Valentine one (hardwired)
Ultimate Motorwerks software (on the way)

I agree....it makes no sense to have heated seats in FL and if I was ordering the car new, I wouldn't have gone for all the options it came with. As mentioned in my initial post, I am the second owner. The car was originally inventory at a Mass dealer outside of Boston, however, the original owner bought the car new in Tampa, FL (I verified this). I guess the two dealers made a swap at some point. You see plenty of C4 and C4S's down here so maybe they swaped some inventory. Strangely enough, my M3, which I purchased new from a local dealer's inventory, also had heated seats.

I have heated seats in my Coupe and they are very useful on the few chilly mornings we have.

Welcome to the board. I'm interested in the H&R springs. How much lower do they make the car and do you feel a difference when driving with them?

Again welcome.

LOL. When it hits the 60's here it's shorts, tank-tops and flip-flops, most of the people take a sun-day and we all cheer.

2 of my 3 cars have heated seats. The '95 does not.. in fact the passenger seat is not even electric (compared to my 90 which is full electic and heaters). I guess I assumed Porsche was like MBZ. Every car is sold 'loaded out' for the US market.

Welcome to the insanity!!!

Nice color! I was looking at a GT Silver one day and thought it was really nice for a 911. Then came the cost... For paint? You paint your GT's with the same color, so why charge me $$$$ for same color? Ah hell, I passed. But still really like it!

You have a very nice car and glad to hear your living the dream! I know that feeling quite well every time I open the garage.

Nice to see another 997 with the H&R springs as these cars look too high as it is stock. Problem for me is I have an Aerokit. Still, I may be going to the springs soon.

Keep her nice and clean.

Regards,
Deanski

Doesn't matter where one lives - heated seats are a great option! Wait until you young'uns have a sore back from too much paintball, soccer, or tennis. Best $480 you'll ever spend!

More importantly, beautiful well equipped car! Only gets better!

heated seats!!!

if you don't have them, it's easy to feel like it's a waste of $$$

Once you get them, you can't live without them.

Also, agree with the herated seat option. I lived in south FL for over 3 years and loved the heated seats in the cars I had at the time.
