Default New Thick Multifunction Steering

I'm new to this forum.
Does anyone have any pics of the NEW THICK multifunction steering?
This is a new option on the '07s.
I ordered a C4S and the waiting is torture.
Thanks,

No but i am sure it is not actually thick. Go aftermarket with the Techart wheel. Order the standard mult-function wheel and then swap it out for the techart wheel.

Default Thick Multifunction Steering Wheel

However, on the order form the dealer has the price for the multifunction steering wheel and another adder for a NEW thicker steering wheel which the dealer says is thicker than multifunction one. He indicated that he double-checked with the factory, and they are now offering this option to make the steering wheel much thicker.
Does anyone have a comment on this?

I also have an '07 C4S on order and took this new option as well (code: CPA which requires multi-function code 431) but haven't seen a picture so would be curious as well.

The TechArt wheel is indeed gorgeous, but maybe a bit over the top for me, so we'll see what the factory has come up with.

Any yes, waiting is indeed hard!

I'm also curious as to how "thick" is going to be.
If anyone gets a pic, please post it.
Thanks,

Khalid:
This is an awsome looking machine!
I was looking at the steering wheel. The new one (code: CPA which requires multi-function code 431) to make the multifunction even thicker. This option is new for '07, however, I have not seen the new one.
Any comments?

Mario, it's just a picture of a 997 turbo that I have. Used to have the thicker steering wheel on my '05 turbo S and I really enjoyed it. Much better than the thinner one I currently have on my 997 S.

Default Anyone have pictures

I asked the parts department if they had any information on the difference between the 06 and 07, and they told me No. They told me to look at Rennlist or Rennteam. Thought that was funny. As ususal, the forums know more than the folks selling the products.

I am interested in getting the new multifunction wheel as I just added NAV and SAT, and want that additional functionality to keep from having to taking my hands off the wheel and eyes off the road. I miss my old M3 E46 steering wheel, and hope this new one is close to that size.

I am pretty sure the picture above from Khalid is just a multi function steering wheel which cost $250 . There is a new option available now and I ordered it for my TT. You need to order option 431 which is multi function leather steering wheel costing $250 PLUS order option CPA which is thicker multi function steering wheel and it cost $930. You need to order both to end up with the thicker multi steering wheel. Good luck

I just installed the thicker steering wheel (OEM Porsche) that I bought at a very nice price from Brandywine in PA... though not the mulitfunction wheel. It is thicker and it is PERFECT. I did it myself and the process is a piece of CAKE. All that is needed is a blunt awl type tool ( I used a 25 torx fixed driver ) to pop the airbag unit, a 55 torx 1/2 drive socket that will fit 6 of the 12 points on the torx head steering shaft internal serration screw, and a 1/2 drive torque wrench to set the 37 ft. lbs. torque on the same screw when tightening the new wheel.

I a-l-m-o-s-t bought the TechArt wheel until I compared the two prices... OEM thicker Porsche wheel from Brandywine, in full leather with matched stitching... WITH a new airbag unit $1900 with shipping. The TechArt wheel was $2000 plus WITHOUT the new airbag unit. The TechArt wheel is insanely priced IMHO so I went with Porsche wheel from Brandywine.

The Porsche OEM thicker wheel is awesome and in full leather it will not be a disappointment.

Dear Friends:
Regarding the Multifunction "thicker handwheel" for '07... This is NEW for '07.
If you want to obtain this option, you have to order "CPA" Thicker Leather Steering Wheel ($930.00) and "431" 3-Spoke Steering Wheel Multifunction Leather ($740.00).
I will post a pic when I receive my C4S in December.

Only shot I have of the old wheel ( the Porsche manager ordered a standard leather wheel for my C4S... it was his first Porsche order )

Then the new thicker wheel, which is actually thicker and grippier.

BTW, the standard wheel (Black full leather w/ dark grey stitching AND the air bag unit to fit it are for sale).
