The real purpose of wax is to offer protection from the environment. In theory, when the film is removed there can be a difference between what is covered and what is not (for example having half the hood covered). If the owner never washes or neglects his or her paint over time, then the condition of what's not covered would certainly be different from the freshly protected areas. At the same time, we have to keep in mind, that for those that spend the money to protect the front end would maintain the rest of the car.

Paint protection film does not block UV rays like traditional leather bras would. So you really do not have to worry about that.
