I would NEVER, (BTW, did I mention NEVER) do a dealership lease. The MB dealer lease was going to be $116 per month higher than the lease I got at Lease Compare for my wife's CLK, with the same residual amount (+/- $500). On a 39 month lease, I saved myself $4,524.

The Porsche dealership was going to be $88 higher per month. On a 39 month lease, I saved myself $3,432.

BTW, did I mention I would NEVER do a dealership lease???

gota911-

Thanks for the info. I will keep it in mind. I do have a question though.

I went to lease compare and used their quick quote tool to figure out the lease payments on a 2007 997. I then used a lease calculator with the current money factors etc. from PFS. Each time PFS turns out better.

Was this the case when you used lease compare for your leases, yet when you contacted them, they found a better deal?

Ryan - I did the Lease Compare numbers prior to talking with both dealerships, so I knew the money factor, residual (both % and $$), and the monthly payment before I talked with the stealers, er... in mean... dealers. The Lease COmpare was what I used as the basis and both dealers were higher. Sometimes, the manufacturer will be giving incentives on financing, expecially if sales are slow.

I just did the same on a 2007 997 C2S @ $81,400 with 0 down for 36 months @ 12,000 mikes per year.

The PFS cane out with monthly payment of $1,459.

Lease compare came up with the following.

Lease Offers # of Months Residual $ Factor Payment
Bank Lease B (42 Mth)$39,072 0.0025 $1,338
Bank Lease A (39 Mth)$40,700 0.00224 $1,342
Bank Lease A (36 Mth)$42,328 0.00224 $1,389
Bank Lease B (36 Mth)$41,514 0.0025 $1,448
Bank Lease C (39 Mth)$32,560 0.003 $1,690
Bank Lease C( 36 Mth)$32,560 0.003 $1,802

Obviously Bank C is smoking something. If you wanted 36 months, Bank A would be the one to go with @ $1,389 per month. You might bw able to still find better deals out there.

Was the PFS numbers given to you, directly from the dealer, or did you use the online calculator?

This is great information. I will keep this in mind.

Do you know how lease compare vs. PFS on a CPO vehicle?
