thx

315/30/18 Rear Michelin PS-2 (29lbs)
The rear tires are about 1/2 inch smaller overall diameter (25.5" vs. 26") than the 295/30/19's on the car now which will give it about 2.25% lower overall gearing. That should help acceleration a bit and reduce top speed by about 4mph.

Ok, so I'm a bit enlightened and confused. You said the OEM lugs weigh 3.5oz (the locking lug) and 3.3oz (others) which totals 16.7oz (1lb, .7oz) per corner. Yet, you indicate above it's 20.7oz (1lb, 4.7oz) per corner. This is pretty trivial but I'd like to know which you believe to be correct.
I weighed the aftermarket Ti lugs and they are 1.9oz each for a total of 9.5oz per corner. They look incredible, feel lighter but, at many hundreds of $ a set, they are not worth an aggregate weight savings of only a half pound or so. Once again, buyer beware!

Yes,--my mathmatical error,--so used to metric. 16.7 oz per corner.
One caution on the titanim. Inspect them regularly. I have worked extensively with titanium goods and there is a higher fracture potential with titanium over steel or aluminimum.
Good luck with the racing!

Related to this discussion: curious what are the weights of the various wheels standard and optional on the 997S?
Was considering the Carrera Sports (admittedly purely aesthetics reason) but this discussion has me thinking and considering keeping the 18" setup.

A follow up question if you please: since the 997S comes with 19" setup as standard, what are my options if I want an 18" setup, is it even recommended or possible with the S?
Wonder if the 997 GT3 18" wheels would fit the 997 S? Have seen it on the 996 Turbo and it's ligher (if I remember correctly) than the stahdard 18" 996 Turbo wheel.
