Default 20" 997 wheels??

I saw this thread on ebay the other day and wondered what anyone thought on this. Would these work/fit on a 997 C2? I haven't heard much of 20" on them but am sure they'd fit okay. However am not familiar with this brand although I've seen them advertised in Bimmer Magazine and Porsche Excellence from time to time.

Anybody got any info or experience with them or this fitment? Think that the combo would look nice color wise on my 997 Artic Silver.

Look like cheap, cast wheels to me. How much do they weigh?

I think most racers still use 18" so not sure why you'd want 20's except "you FLY", Man.

But what do I know?

I'd be a little skeptical to trade forged wheels for cast. You gain weight and lose quality to change the appearance. I feel your pain because I want to change my lobster wheels for something else but don't want to gain weight or sacrafice quality.

Cheap looking. The lightest Carrera S wheels currently are the lobsters. (BTW, all the wheels except the Turbo ones are pressure cast).

I think 20s are fine to run on a 997 as a lot of tuners run them. 18s would be better for track , but they would like great on a street car. I would be concerned with the brand name( never heard of them).

I would think twice about 20" rims in terms of 1) ride quality and 2) the pot hole factor.

If you have to have 20s, Champion Motorsport offers a terrific looking (and light) set of forged 20s - RS128.

Thanks for the info. I don't NEED 20" for those who implied that. ~ I was just asking the question since I wasn't familiar with 20" and/or 19" or other various fitments for the 997 non S coupe. What are the pros and cons of upgrading past 18" on the 997 is what I really wanted to get at besides looks? I live in the Northeast so potholes like some mention I am sure will be an issue especially with the jacked up streets in the Washington DC area sometimes. I have no real good idea what you guys mean when you mention forged vs cast and the disadvantages of each. When I read Excellence and numerous other mags they mention the other aspects of the 996 and the 997 in great detail to include brakes, aerodynamics, oil pumps, etc however wheels and how they are made and which are best fits for your vehicle beside what you left the dealership with are often neglected. That said what does anyone think of the OEM 996 GT3 wheels for a 997? I read an article retrofitting them to a 996 in European Car Magazine last month that was interesting.

Thanks to all
