PSE Operation...

First, I do not have the factory PSE installation. It was installed by the dealer .
I do not have the chrono sport switch , but the one with the dual exh. pipe symbol , so the wiring may be slightly different in a factory installation .
The wires going to the engine compartment solenoid valve are connected to a harness behind the rear seats . One is red/purple(+) and the other is light green (-)
(they run into the engine compartment at the far left rear)
I cut the red/purple wire and spliced in the wires going to the switch .
Then, I ran the wire to the center console to the switch (see prev. picture)
To do the actual installation, all you need is to remove the carpeted shelf behind the rear seats.
(there are no clips or fasteners) just lift it in the centerof the car and remove it .
Remove the left metal cover ( three 10 mm nuts ) to get to the wires .
Run the wires on the passenger side (wedge them between and behind the floor and side carpeted trim)
I used 18 ga. wire , but 20 ga. will be more than adequate .
Remove the recessed storage compartment below the passenger door .
Take out the rubber insert ,remove one T-20 screw and it will pop out ( it has clips holding it in below)
Continue the wires forward behind the foot well and below the dash trim to the center console.
The wires can be easily routed thru the console by using a wire snake thru either the ashtray or the opening below the hadbrake .
The switch is held in the ashtray by an epoxy insert ( a friend made a mold for me )

I find it hard to understand how apparently identically equipped cars are wired differently. My 2006 C2, with factory PSE, w/o sports chrono.... when the light is on it's in quiet mode; when the light is off, loud. And it defaults to light on (quiet) every time the car is started from off.

I have an 06 with Sport Chrono, could I have PSE installed and not have it linked to the sport function? Could I have a separate PSE button independent of the Sport function?

I don't think you can , but check with your installer.
Why would you want a separate button?
Just get it installed and then add your own switch like I did .
You will then be able to turn PSE on-off ,with or without engaging the Sport chrono.
