Get the Makita 9227. It's the absolute best, as Deanski will tell you. It's what the pros use.

since we're on the topic,--what is the name of the fender protector that you put around the cord?

I just bouht the Griot's orbital at Parade. Haven't had a chance to use it yet however.

I have never used a PC orbital, but I am a big fan of all Griot's products. I have had their orbital for about 3 months now, and all their products just work great together. I have used their paint polishes, glass polishes, and pads with their orbital without any issues whatsoever.

Here's a pic of one that I use: DF Towels cord sock

DF Towels have some very fine MF type towels! DF Towels Online Store The main site is: DF Towels Home Page

If you do not have a sock or tail to cover the cord, just drape it over your sholder as you go to polish so it does not touch the finish.

For pads that have one of THE BEST adapters as opposed to backing plates, you want to look at The Edge pads. Edge Pads
