No. I couldn't find a nice base 997 CPO anywhere locally except TWO at Porsche of Arlington. One was an 06 Basalt Black Metallic 997S (which they weren't really trying to deal for); the other the one I got was an 05 997 base. Hey how do you like the Carnewal Aluminum Pedals? Good fit? Price?

I like the pedals. Not cheap, but IMO the improve the look of the car.

Nice car, and do go for the Carnewall pedals. They look sharp. If you want to do something really nice try the illuminated side sills. And as for Home Theatre I'm a great fan myself. This fall I'm actually expanding the cabinetry so I can install a new Sony 70" XBR2. It hasn't been released yet but will be out soon. Again congratulations and have a great time with your new daughter.

Hey Gweedo did you do the pedal install yourself? Seems that they are having a sale on the Carnewall pedals and I may have to pickup a set. Also are they slippery when wet? I had a set in my old 3 series and noticed that sometimes.

Smile Good Orbital Polisher/Wash and Wax for 997

Morning...although I don't need it yet can anyone suggest a good orbital polisher that I can pickup locally or online to use on my new 997? Also anybody have and good experience or recs for wax/wash products? I am a previous Meguier's fan and pretty satisfied with their products especially the Black Gold series but am always open for options and ideas. I had used REJEX previously on my 996 and M3 with good results but am hesitant on using it with my 997 and haven't heard much from the forums about it's use lately. So I am defering it's use right now although when used/applied properly in the past (i.e. in my garage under controlled temp and light) it did look FANTASTIC when done.

My wife says why not just take it to the local car wash...in her mind what harm could it do...afterall she took my X5 there yesterday and it clean up nicely she said. In response I took her 997 copy of the P-car key away immediately and told her "I'd wash it myself thank you!" somethings/times a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do! LOL

Anyway thoughts on what you guys/gals are using lately out there are appreciated.

Ham @ T.A.G. Motorwerks in Gaithersburg installed the pedals. There's is a DIY thread with good pictures in this forum. Do a search. Haven't had any issues with slippage when wet. Enjoy your car. PM if you want to ride some twistes in MD.

MDROB, I use Menzerna and Black Fire products to achieve a great concours look. Take a look.

Depending on what look you're after and what you like (sealants or waxes) there is many to choose from.

First if thinking polisher, get a Porter Cable 7424. You cannot hurt finish with this and foam pads as long as you're not using cutting pads.

You may want to read up on some of the detailing forums to which I'm also a member: Autopia Detailing Forums and Detailcity detailing forums

NICE RIDE Take good car of it by following the break-in schedule in your manual. Than, after 2K miles.... Open it up to listen and grin like all hell!

I have the lit sills which do look nice. You'll find that more and more items will catch your eyes to update your Porsche with. It seems to never end!

I have 19" P Zero Nero on my C2S and seem to likethem so far. I'd put those on if they are the correct size and "N" rated.

Regards,
Deanski
