I thought I could work this out myself, but I am obviously a loser, because I can't.
I just placed my order for an 07 911S (October build) with Artic / Black full leather combo.
But this past weekend, I saw a black S go by on the road and it looked bad ***.
I currently drive a black M5, which when clean, looks killer. It's just dirty most of the time.
Used to drive a BLUE Ford Probe, then a BLUE M3, then a BLUE Boxster S. Just this year, I bought a BLUE Harley. (Notice the trend?) Vowed I wouldn't get blue as I needed to break out of the trend.
So here's my thought process.
Go with Artic / Black. Catches the eye, easy to clean. But just so darn common.
Go with Black / Sand. Smokin. But hard to keep clean, and hard to keep swirl free.
Go with something in the middle. Ignore my Blue rule, and go with Midnight / Sand (or Grey).
So I'm down to these 3 colors, and I need some powerful advice to help my make a frekin' decision. I have about to week to change my order, then it's locked.
Check out Atlas Grey, it looks blue or black depending on the light. Black shows it all, buy what you like who cares if you like blue. Cobalt Blue looks excellent and it's no longer a $3400 option

ok! i'll place my vote but you have to do the same in return!
get the black/sand!
since i'm an indecisive wuss as well, i've narrowed mine down to speed yellow, or carrara white.
gt3 so no choice on interior, it will be black or dark grey. what's your vote?

For those choices, I'd go with yellow. The GT3 is hardly subtle, so why go with a subtle color.
