Default laser jammer effectiveness?

I'm new to this forum. Just got a 997 midnight blue C4S coupe. I was wondering if anyone has installed a Blinder M40 Xtreme. Do they work, and what would be the optimal placement for the heads? Thanks.

There was another string on it. They are good but Laser Pro Park is the best, just hard to get. Must be bought in the UK or Croatia. About $2,200 installed. Has one head that goes under front plate (you must cut the rubber) or two heads in the vents of the front bumper. You can get one in the rear above the plate as well, but!!!!! install is not easy, lots of wires, firewall drills, cut outs in rubber, etc. That said, it really works and you will jam nearly all laser guns. Coupled with a V1 it is great countermeasures. As another cheaper option, drive the speed limit. Doesn't cost a dime.

Thx for the feedback. I went away for awhile. The Laser Pro Park is certainly difficult to get. Had the Blinder m40 installed, along with hardwiring my V1. On my second day driving with both units installed, the V1 and the the Blinder both detected a laser at the same time. The jammer def. defeated the lidar gun. So far a worthwhile addition.

I have the K40 and once this summer a State Trooper was trying to shoot me with the laser gun and he never could get a read on what I was doing because of the defuser. By the time I passed him I was doing 65mph. Best mod I added this year.

The real trick is to use the jammer/diffusor in conjunction with a detector.

When the cop hits you first, your V1/etc goes off, then you slow down, disable the jammer, so when he goes for the second read, you are doing a more reasoanble speed.

drive safe!

I have had a blinder extreme 40 on my 3301i for the last year and a half and it has saved me getting nailed a dozen times. Very worthwhile investment and highly recommended. I really hate driving my C2 unprotected. I haven't decided just how to put a jammer on it without having something ugly stuck on the front. The BMW has more places on the front to attach the LED units. BTW the cops here in Calgary generaly use LTI Ultralyte LIDAR guns so check to see what they're using in your area to get the best system for you.

I had 1 head unit mounted on each side below the fog light, inside the upper air intake. It's set back somewhat since it has to be pointed straight ahead to work correctly. You can't really see them unless you are really looking for them.

I was a little worried that anything in the rad intakes might disrupt the air flow, but it would be in the optimal position because here we have no front plates so they target the headlights. I might try another brand to compare.

Thats exactly why I put them in that location. I dont' have a front plate either. I think the lidatek units are smaller, though I really doubt that the blinder units restrict airflow to the radiators in any significant way. Try to find out what type of lidar they are using where you are, there might be 1 or 2 types that the lidatek is not that effective against
