Default My new Kinesis wheels - pics and commentary

I mounted my new K19R wheels, on C4S, and have a number of comments.

1. The "soft socket" from Booth has an exterior diameter that is bigger than the hole in the K19Rs. The socket fits the "Carrera Classic" wheels, so I was able to use that socket to remove the wheels. But then I was stuck and had to run to the closest auto supply store to buy smaller exterior diameter socket to mount the new Kinesis wheels.

2. The K19Rs just feel different. They have identical Michelin PS2's mounted on them (though they're new, whereas the old wheels had about 1500 miles of wear). The K19Rs are somewhat noisier, stiffer - initially I thought I had them mounted backwards, with wrong (bigger) wheels in front...but no. Maybe the extra .5 in. in front makes a difference. Maybe the slight extra weight of the Kinesis can be felt. Now I got used to them and I'm too lazy to switch back to see if there is still a difference.

3. With the seal grey color, the K19Rs' center portion looks great. But the polished aluminum rim shows every fingerprint. Overall, I love them, most friends cannot or care not tell the difference.

4. No question, the K19Rs are much harder to clean.

5. I replaced the Kinesis center cap with the Porsche crest cap. The Porsche cap is shiny, whereas the Kinesis is matte - not sure it works perfectly...

6. It took a while to "train" the TPM. You have to input new wheel, even though it's identical to old one (summer/19"). It still takes a while to adjust the TPM.

Worth it? maybe....I'm doubtful.

I have always been a fan of wheels with nice lips, and those are nice lips. In the 1st picture, it almost looks like the wheels are the same color as the car. It actually goes well.

I approve. So retro compared to the new turbo wheels. A great look.

I had a feeling those things would be hard to clean with all those littl bolts and the chrome. They look great, but you have to pay for it. Nice wheels.

From that angle and ride height it almost looks like they are bulging out of the wheel wells. Great looking set.

beautiful wheels. nice color. did you add any spacers? the wheels do look as if they stick out a tiny bit from the photos you posted.

I'll post some more pictures this weekend. No spacers though.
