Folks,
Of the tires available for the 19" Carrera S wheels, which last the longest? What are your favorites and why?
Here are the options I am aware of:
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A
Continental ContiSportContact 2
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (Porsche OE)
Pirelli PZero Rosso
Pirelli PZero Rosso (Porsche OE)
Yokohama ADVAN Sport
I live in the San Jose area of Northern California if that makes a difference.

I just replaced my OEM Michelin PS2's (with the same), actually somewhat prematurely, and got more milage out of them than I ever have before with any of my pcars. I think they are the best all around tires available, including performance and lifespan. Damn pricey, though!

I have PS2's and really like them, but will be going with the PZero's next time as I like the way they look and wear. I live in Texas where it is hot as hell and really only drive in good weather. My car is a fair weather friend. I also have BP's that seem to last the longest, but I prefer teh Pzero ride.

I've read the supply of Continental ContiSportContact 2 are low and that tire will be replaced by ContiSportContact 3. Both my 987 (18" wheels) and my 997 (19" wheels) came with Continentals. Rear tires on the Boxster lasted 14,000 miles. The 997 just hit 7,000 miles with 1/8" rear tread depth remaining. I would buy them again. I did, however, really like the Michelin PS2's on the cars at PDE. I will most likely try them when the time comes to replace all four tires.

I just replaced my PS2s with the Bridgestones. Have not taken the car on the track yet to test grip but around town and on the fwy they seem more quiet than the PS2s. Good looking tire too.

The Bridgestones came on my car and I have been very pleased with them so far. But then, I never went much above 180 with them so I can't give you a live report on top end performance!
