You can close the flap enough for it not be noticeable immediately. Then again, folks usually don't do much with the parcel shelf in the back often.
If you are careful, you can get away with cutting only for the flap to fold and nothing more. No piece should be cut off from the carpeting completely.

I still have trouble using the anchor tether in my 997.2. Anyone have any tips?

Thanks. Really poor design in my opinion that you have to CUT the carpet for this to work properly and can't completely put it back the way it was.

Just FYI for those looking to install a rear foward facing car seat without cutting into your carpet you can use the britax marathon clicktight or the britax boulevard clicktight. Both dont require the anchor and are extremely secure with the seatbelt clicktight system.

I installed both and they fit great with little to no movement.

For reference I only removed the Velcro rear seat bottom. (I tried to remove the rear seat back but one of the torx bolts was stripped so I figured I would just test it with the seat back still installed and it fit great!)

i own a 2010 c4s from I understand the c4 has a narrower seat bottom than the narrow body so you should have no issues fitting either of those britax seats in your 911 wb or nb

Hope this helps anyone looking to figure out the car seat situation.

Default 997.1 Coupe

Hey - I’ve just bought a 997.1 Coupe after scrolling many threads thinking I’d be able to install a car seat but so far unhappy with the fit of any, including the Porsche seat direct from them!

Do all of the U.K. 997.1s coupes have an anchor point in the rear? Looked at the carpet for the marking but can’t seem to see anything indicating it’s there.

Thx.

I have a 2008 997.1 turbo cabriolet, and I desperately need the answer to this same question! I've tried looking here, 6speed, pelican, etc. and now answers on whether the cabs have any kind of anchor in the back seat. Does anyone here know? If I can't put a seat back there, I'm going to have to sell the car...

I did find this part: 997-803-721-00 which is available here: https://www.gaudinporscheparts.com/o...waArGoEALw_wcB

Does anyone know if this works, if I need any other parts to install it? If I have to cut wholes in the carpet piece behind the rear seat backs / in front of the rollover bars?

Thanks so much in advance!

There was no anchor point in the U.K. Coupe which could be found by a specialist. I ended up selling the 997.1 (very short lived ownership) for a Macan Turbo, just couldn’t get comfortable with the kids safety.
