Default Why so many cabs for sale?

When I bought my car in May there were alot of cabs at the dealers because that was the start of their selling season. Now there still remains alot of them at the end of their selling season and model year. The coupes still are a little tight but better from a few months ago. What gives?

IMO, the extra cost associated with:

-Roof security/maint/future replacement.
-Rear seat capacity.
-Uni-body flex.
-Track restrictions

I think that PCNA just overestimated the number of cabriolets that they would sell in the US this year.

I hear that C4S coupes are hard to come by... maybe they should have built a few more coupes, and a few less cabs? Likemystoppie should be able to give you a more realistic view...

Just MHO,

GR997S--is that what you're seeing in Orange County? Perhaps that is unique to your area. Clearly, many dealers in SoCal will order cabs because this is cab country,--I don't think that it's a sign of something critical. People are fickle. They follow trends. If someone on a discussion forum, like, say, the Rennlist for example, puts out the word that coupes have a head-space handicap suddenly cab sales will result. If we're worried about solar radiation coupe sales may pick up.

Dan: Yes. Most of the dealers are 75% or so cabs (at least according to web sites). And the same story for several of the dealers I know in northern cal. Since the dealers place the orders for the cars, they must have misread their markets....

It seems to me you can never get a cab when you really want one.

Today's retail glut will become tomorrow's resale glut.
