Default Checked My Mileage

The car traveled 254.7miles and took 13.39 gallons on fill-up. 19.02 mpg.!
Guess I am in the normal range.

I bet we are all about the same. Anyone getting a real high or low mpg?

16 overall - but I'm always in town... ;-(

When I do hit the freeway, 21-22 is not unreachable...

16.5 +/- .5 MPG on combined suburban (freeway, fast traffic, slow traffic) driving. But I do drive...rapidly.

Heres my cumulative total for the past 6,699 miles since March which include a road trip, a couple of AutoX, a couple of track outings, as well as general driving.

I avg 19.6 when driving moderately aggressive, and Sport button engaged and drive a mix of city and highway driving, doing the occasional pedal to the metal here and there.

If I am at 19.6 avg mileage and take a 30 mile trip on the highway and stay in 6th gear a lot, I can get it up to 20-something by the end of that trip if I drive conservatively.

Average speed of nearly 60!!! You must not spend too much time in any kind of traffic. Or does the computer only figure in actual time you are spending with the wheels moving?

Consider that stopped at a light your speed is 0. You don't need too much more than simple algebra to tell you that you must drive awfully fast to recover that time and still average 60 over 6700 mi

The computer is calculating from the time the engine is started...the car does not have to be rolling...when not in motion the av speed will tic down.

I'm getting 21.5. When I first got the car I was getting 19.5 to 20 mpg. I'm almost to 11,000 miles now, & the mileage seemed to jump up at around 10000. The vast majority of my mileage is highway. My 997 is my daily driver. I drive 38 mile each way to and from work. I go opposite of traffic, so my highway speeds are typically in the 80 to 90 mph range.

I routinely get 10-11 mpg ALL ciy driving - i.e. Boston, fourth gear being a rarity.
I'm on a Vermont trip right now, averaged about 22 mpg over 200 miles going about 85 mph. It is soooo nice to be out of the city!

We drove around New England last summer in a rented Subie. What a kick it would be to do it in a Porsche. I'm envious. btw we spent Independance Day holiday last year in Boston. Went to Fenway one evening, and then took in the fireworks on the 4th. I don't think there is a better city to be in for the 4th of July than Boston.

I've gotten as high as 26mpg in the car, as low as 8mpg. The former was backroads driving around 60mph for probably 60 miles, the latter at the track going about 8/10 on street tires for 110 miles. For the 997's performance, it really does get excellent mileage. I'm at 1700 miles, fwiw.

Fenway is great although it is really expensive getting tix these days ever since we reversed that curse thing.
We really do a great 4th in Boston - even the least patriotic types can't help but engage!. We usually grill on our roof deck and enjoy the fireworks but this year we opted for a little VT trip - I have to say, I think VT is my favorite state and I hope to settle here one day. My car is loving the roads here!
