Default Question for Windscreen Users

Because I'm usually transporting kids, I rarely get to use my windscreen in my Cabriolet. This weekend I finally got to use it while my wife and I were out, but when we left the car I felt compelled to take it out before closing the top.

QUESTION: Can you leave the windscreen in, and still close the top?

I didn't want to find out the hard way that you couldn't do this, especially since I have a SmartTOP.

Thanks!

The screen is designed to to allow top opening an closure with it's removal. I do it all the time.

Make that WITHOUT it's removal. Sorry.

Cool - thanks all! I suspected (and hoped) you could, but I could just feel the pain of being wrong - OUCH!

Just be careful when you back the seats and/or recline them. They can hit the windscreen and may break it.

Or just scratch the back of your seats as I have...

Once you start to use the windscreen you will break the code on using it,--it works either up or down with the roof also either up or down or moving to one or the other. It can be taken out of the back area with the top up but I find it easier to install with the top down. It is amazing what a difference that thing makes at serious autobahn speeds.

Agree. I've owned many converts and this is easily the bst in terms of wind buffeting. Too bad you can't put the seats further back though.

I've never used the darn thing. I'll dig it out from the closet and put it on the car once in awhile.

WHOOHOO - I just transitioned my daughter into a booster seat this weekend (Britax Comfy Starriser - without the back installed) and now I have loads of room in the back seat. I can even put the seat backs down with the seat in, so I can use the windscreen - whoohoo!

SilverSteel - The windscreen is awesome - I highly recommend you try it out.

The windscreen makes a HUGE difference. Just be careful when it's in that you don't push your seat too far back, what a terrible design.
