Got my new 997S 2 days ago. So far, I have put on 200 miles, varying the speed as I go. Towards the end of my drive today, the engine started hesitating in 1st and 2nd gear. Went away after stopping for about 15 min.
Plus, my air conditioner doesn't work! I hope that this is not a trend!
There were a couple of other threads as well. There seems to be no real concensus as why this happenes, but it seems to be more prevalent thatn thought?
I am very perceptive of the car's behavior and have noticed on ocassion, rare ocassion, the car stumbles ever so slightly. Given the Sports Chrono package can control the throttle response time, I wonder if there is any correlation to having this option and this particular issue. Again, it is rare and has never happened while in Chrono mode. Any thoughts...
Probably simply changing your gas station, adjusting gas cap, and adding freon to the A/C unit will remedy the problem. Good luck!
It's not that easy. Mine did it too. I started a thread here about this as well a few weeks ago.
It's not the gas. My other cars don't do it with the same gas. Mine does not hesitate when in chrono mode or I start the car in first. Only when the tranny is in auto mode and starts in 2nd gear. Further, it only hesitates when the engine has been run to operating temp, then shut down, then re-started within 10 minutes or so (like getting gas or going into the store).
I knew it wasn't the gas. I actually had mine stall once at a stop sign and it was kind of funny because this guy was tailgating me and my car died. I took it in they replaced a module (?whaever?). The car doesn't stall anymore, but it does sputter on very rare ocassions (not a warm-up issue, either).
What was interesting is that mine occured when in normal mode (I almost always had the sports mode on, but that day I did not). The only other abberancy was that 1 day prior I went on 'spirited' drive with a few other rennlisters. Perhaps it does have something to do with the throttle response?

I'm going to contact the dealer and get some details. The Chrono is incredible, but I believe it may be related to this piece of equipment. I'll post their response to my inquiry.
I had the same problem -it happened a month or so ago but went away. It happened again yesterday and it is now scheduled for a check up and to fix a few other things like rattling rear left speaker.

Dont mean to point out what may be obvious to most (but not me at first):
The AC is turned on by turning OFF the ECO, so if the ECO light is ON your AC is OFF, kinda backwards... threw me a bit of a curveball. But kinda makes sense now, if you turn off 'environment conditioning' (assuming thats the acronym) then your A/C is off too.
