Default ipod in a 997

Seeing how Porsche still hasnt come out with anything to keep up with technology, I have decided to look for something on my own. Has anyone tried or known anyone who has tried the Ice>Link Plus. Their web site says it works for the 997 but I want to hear it from someone else before I try it.

We are all waiting for it's release and a report on it's compatibility.
If it turns out to be good, we should try to negotiate a group buy!!

Dension first showed the iPod adapter for MOST back in January 1995.
Since then, they have been promising delivery....in about 6 weeks.....for about a year and a half.
It's been discussed in the Cayenne forum over that time, here's a link to the latest "due in about 6 weeks"

Can you post a link to the BMW forum that discusses the i-link?

Thanks

I wouldn't count on Porsche coming out with anything in this area anytime soon, as they appear to be laggards to the market with technology when it has to do with sound. I would love to hear from someone on this and participate in a group-buy scenario as well.

Check out the Gateway 500 at www.dension.com looks promising.

Yes, well I don't doubt that an i-Pod source would help, but...

I'm not sure, even with the Bose option that the amp/spkr combo is up to the bandwidth and dynamic range that an i-Pod can produce. You know the drill, when you set it loud enough for the softer music IT"S TOO DAMN LOUD for the peaks. Especially with something like Pink Floyd (BTW, which one is Pink?)

I am really surprised that Porsche didn't design a audio out jack for iPods / MP3 players....or maybe I'm not surprised...
