Thumbs up Tubi Exhaust System

I just had the new Stainless Steel Tubi Exhaust installed on my 997S. It is neat as heck. Not much more sound (if any) at steady speed, but it sounds great under acceleration. The best thing is that you can hear it before you purchase. Email Mick O'Donnell mpodonnell3@yahoo.com and he can email you the sounds. Tubi says 10 to 15 hp increase. I can not tell that till I go to the track and run with the stock 997S. Mike works for Bert Smith Porsche in St. Pete who is a dealer for the system. You can use your old tips or get the big round ones from them.

At my last track day, I heard the Tubi exhaust on a Cayman S......very nice.... sounded more like a Ferrari than a Porsche.

It took 2.5 hours and the system was $2,114 with my 10% club discount. That is using existing tips. The big round tips are 675.00, are highly polished SS and good looking.

why do they sell it as a tubi "style" exhuast? is it because they copied teh tubi style from the ferrari or is there some kind of trademark on the "tubi" name? it looks nice, and i was thinking of getting one, but the whole "style" line is having me second guessing.... any thoughts?

I have it in my 997S, complete with headers and tubi tips. My feeling is that there is more power, more sound (not like Ferrari, is still Porsche 6 cilinder boxer, but yes it is different from PSE), and maybe a little bit more vibration in general. I may have lost some torque and horsepower down the rev range, but this is just my personal feeling, not dyno tested at all. At the end of the day, it is a very personal decision...

I do not know if Tubi is louder. I may know after a June 10th DE. As to other systems, there are many but I liked the sound which I heard from the dealers CD and it seems to be accurate in real life.

997s X PO BOX, I am near you in Tampa and have been to Bert Smith when I was looking for a C2S Cab. They seemed bent on selling me the PSE over the Tubi and both cost about the same. What did you like better about the Tubi than the PSE? Which exhaust over all is louder or is it just a tonal diffenence between the 2?
thanks, Mike

It would be great if you could also film it with a decent camera if possible. I am really looking forward to hear your comments and see the movie if you guys can do it.
