My current lease on a 2003 BMW 745i will be expiring soon. Since I still consider myself young (31) I want something sportier. I test drove a non-s and I was blown away with the handling. I have until October to take delivery so I have plenty of time to shop around. After reading the forum I have come to the conclusion that discount range from null in SoCal to 7% in other parts. My dilema is that Austin Porsche tells me they can give a 6% discount on an ordered 06 but they cannot discount an 07. I thought this was ridiculous. I have until the end of this week to finalize my order for an August delivery if I go with the 06. Has anybody had any experience with Roger Beasley Porsche in Austin, Tx. Is The San Antonio dealership any better?
Are you particular about the color? Just fyi the seal grey is being replaced by meteor grey for 07's, just fyi if that means anything to you... If your hung up on seal grey it means an extra $4k for color to sample if you go with the 07. And I think the 07's have TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) standard now.
I live in Austin and have a number of friends who purchased from Roger Beasley with a good experience. I looked at them but ended up buying a used 977S. You might consider this and you can buy an 997S for the price of a 997. I was looking for either a white or yellow. Ended up with a yellow which I bought (on eBay) from Miami and had a great buying experience and got a great car at a very reasonable price. The Dallas dealer had a white/black 2005 997S.
I am looking to develop a good relationship with a dealer in my area for services purposes. I bought my last car from a dealer in Houston (300 miles away) and ended up having an awful relationship with the closest dealership (150 miles). It would usually take them about three attempts to fix anything. It is very upsetting to pay 80K for a luxury vehicle and get treated like you drive a Kia. I guess it is more important to buy from a dealership known for outstanding service then for giving measly 5-6% discounts.

I didn't know if you were looking for a Coupe or Cab, so I searched for both in the attached link, which is from Autotrader. There are 28 Carrara White cars, 2005 - 2006, both new and used. In the "NEW" listings, which lists multiple cars at a dealer, the first post or two will be the the Carrara White cars. Hope this helps a little!

Congratulations on your decision to move onto the 911. Send me an email and I can give you some tips on pricing in SoCal.
Dealer relationship is important. I took the car I bought in Miami to Roger Beasley for a repair (the cruise control had never been set up) and they treated me great. I think Beasley will treat you the same whether you buy from them or not.
