Yes you are. You're missing the thread that was started for the sole purpose of personal attack on a Rennlist Member. A moderator had to step in to delete the thread on the basis of it being against Rennlist policy.

So yes, there's quite a bit you missed.

This is 100% correct. As I recall, this all started a day or so ago when Cayuga, correctly, took OCBEN and WOLFGANG to task for being rude and insulting to someone posting a picture that was posted a few days before by someone else. See attached link towards the end for this back and forth--

Now OC is trying to black list the guy. What a joke. While some, such as OC Ben post more than others (and ofter are helpful), no one owns this board, and no one should be falling in line like sheep to follow rules dictated by OCBen about who should be censored for failing to meet up to his standards about apprpriate language, grammer or any other thing.

What don't you understand? I left a board that was unofficially run by a bunch of "good old boys" who hung out together. A "ban this guy" if they took a dislike to you and your posts went largely unanswered. This type of communication goes on behind the main boards back so to speak and can degenerate into a popularity contest or worse. You of all people should get this.

Trolls are sociopaths - period.
I agree that ignoring them is a wise move. HOWEVER, thinking that administrative intervention should not be allowed is ridiculous,...these sociopaths and their IP addresses need to be deactivated - period.

Generally speaking, no reason for that in my view...As you noted, moderator has ability to control that and should.

I think those on this board that think every post which is critical of them must be coming from a single source really need to consider why they have such a solipsistic view of the world.

In my opinion, this thread is entirely unnecessary. The forum has a management structure made up of administrators and moderators. If you encounter a problem all you have to do is report it. That is what I do!

It has never been the intent of Rennlist or the role of a Moderator to censor the content of discussions on the forums.

That being said, posts and threads that contravene the Charter will be deleted and the person who posted the offending message(s) warned.
Failure to heed such warnings will result in either a temporary or permanent ban from Rennlist.

How member's treat people who's posts are disruptive is up to them but personal attacks will not be tolerated from anyone.

How about having the moderators change the Title in the Avatar to "Troll" instead of Addict/Specialist/etc.

That way, much like the Scarlet Letter, it's easy to identify a troll and proceed accordingly.
