The PSE does add some horsepower much to everyones claim. I found this out from an instructor at PDE this past March. The only reason Porsche doesn't advertise it is because if they did they would have to conduct additional tests. So to avoid this they don't promote it. I was told somewhere around 4-5 HP is gained. Not a lot but there. If anything I enjoy the beautiful sound it makes.

Just picked up my car today after having the PSE added. It stinks..literally. really smells bad..acrid odor. I hope it is just some kind of coating that needs to be burned out/off. As far as sound. Love it. Drove my wife's boxster behind it and although I couldn't breath, it really sounded great. I would like the same tone, maybe even a little louder. I unplugged the electric connect that has been recommended in many threads for the "always loud" option. Wonder if that somehow contributes to the smell?

A simple question - if I go to the dealer for the PSE install is connecting the vacuum regulator hose part of the process or something that must be specifically requested?

they will install it as if it comes from the factory. then you can unhook the electric connector for always loud. my dealer charged 250 for the install. took one day and I am glad they did it. drove it again this am...still stinks, but I no longer care about not having satelite radio. it sounds really great.
