you can live in a car.... you can not drive a house. You can find a nice 911 for >$25K.

Point taken, but I don't think the sub $25k Porsche purchases are the subject of this "discussion".

it was particularly egregious example of one of the least relevant kinds of thread we see on forums like this.

That's true, but it's a nice change of pace to have an irrelevant thread like this one. After all does anyone really need to know by asking others if he/she can afford a $100K car.

After being in the workforce for about four years I bought a new Vette that retailed for about 70% of my yearly net income. Granted it wasn't a wise investment, but there's no question that I got my moneys worth. There's nothing like being young and driving a hot sports car.

The "ratty" house comment may have been controversial, but making fun of Colorado is over the line - it's God's Country.

As I write this there are about 100 elk grazing within 100 feet of my house. And...no worry about the poop since we don't believe in yards at 8,100'.

I'm thinking of knocking up the old lasy several times over and quitting work. I can then draw enough Section 8 money to get myself a new GT3. Thanks in advance for all of you working so hard to support my love of the new ride.

Unbelievable. So she goes into a Dealership with a $25K annual income and she leases a $100K car, and she wants to blame the Dealership. Granted that they were unscrupulous in grossly exaggerating her income, but is she brain dead? Of course she'll get a lawyer and probably prevail in court. What a country. Personal responsibility is a thing of the past.

You're preaching to the choir, sister. What a retard. Lord, I apologize for offending the retards. Can you say Chapter 13? I knew you could. But oh no, people should be able to drive whatever makes them happy regardless of whether they can afford it or not. You only live once. Life is short. You can't put a price on happiness, blah, blah, blah. You can't put a price on desparation either, but those who live it will likely tell you it is a high price indeed.

So, we've definitely determined how much income is insufficient to own one of these cars. That is certainly a start.

LOL You are right. The initial question has been answered. Apparently $25K a year is all you need to earn to be able lease a $100K car. So maybe an extra $5K a year will qualify you for a turbo. Ain't this a great place to live.
