Seems to me that the inclusion of a 17k option as standard equipment in the next model year would be a nasty way to treat one's 2006 customers. I doubt that they would do that. Does anyone have proof that they have ever done such a thing?

Your dealer had too many martinis at lunch - there is no engine change to the 997 or x51 upgrade in the S model.

Porsche is also giving a two-for-one option sale on 07 orders; buy an option get one for free.

Hah! That's nothing! I got my 997S Cab in a box of Rice Krispies, for free, and it has X51 on it! Mmmm...all that snap, crackle, and pop. So beat that if you can. My dealer actually GAVE me the box of Rice Krispies and said it was a special present from Porsche, but not to tell anyone or everyone would want one.

actually, what I heard from a VERY reliable source was that the base 997 will get the 381 hp engine and the S will get the 415 hp gt3 engine...and porsche is dropping the msrp on both cars by 10,000 $..but i am still glad i bought an 06!!!!

LMAO x 1,000,000,000,000,000,0000

Called my PCNA rep this morning and he nearly spit out his koolaid onto his laptop when I told him that.

What's the name of the dealership spouting this b.s.?

Oj pimpson has had so many stupid posts on Rennlist, you can't take him seriously. He doesn't even own a 997 so ignore him.
