Cosmetically I found the Carrera classics too in your face. Of the rims available at the time I bought my car they were the ones I liked the best. If I were buying now I'd want the new multi-spoke rims. Because of their diameter I found they were almost overshadowing the styling of the car. I wanted something with thinner spokes to be more subtle and I also wanted something a little different.

Performance wise, the fronts are 0.5" wider and they supposedly reduce the inherant understeer in the car. I've got maybe 200km of non-spirited driving on them and I haven't played with the tire pressure yet so I can't really comment.

I'm trying to resist modding it too much. I want to pick up a 996GT3 in a couple of years.

Yeah...I remember saying that very same thing. It was more like, "this car looks plenty good and is plenty fast, there is no need to mod it."

Uh yeah right.....now I can't stop

great wheels!!

I am thinking about getting them for my car. Did they upcharge you to polish the lip and rim face or did that come standard?

They are the standard finish. They're pretty easy to clean. You can get the centres and the spokes polished but that's a PITA to me.

Yah, Chris - they do look really, really fine! Congrats - excellent choice.

Like Devon, I'd love to know if they feel any different than the stock rims... did you have lobster forks previously? Is the car any more "nimble"? Does it handle any differently?

The rears are 19x11 and are just over 19 pounds. Very light.

I think I chose wisely.
Chris: Has your car been lowered? If so can you give me the details (how much, who does this service, how much, etc.) If you haven't lowered it, i'll ask somewhere else. Thanks.

Finally a set of wheels that not only don't take away from the beautiful lines of the car by screaming LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME but somehow accentuate the lines. Very nice indeed!
