Well said, Jeff.

Yes, that topic has been beat to death....and beat some more.

Ahh, gotchya. For the record, I own a launch car and am a track enthusiast; hope that helps put my comments in perspective.

Since I paid for sport crono, I'd like to have somebody convince it was money well spent. . .

Dariof:

I too went from a SC430 to a 911 coupe, then traded in the coupe on a cab 6 months later. Night and day between the Lexus and the 911. You'll be very pleased.

Hey, where were you when I needed your perspective (an excellent one, btw) when this was hotly debated here and I was essentially the lone rational voice in the desert crying out: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS POS GADGET!!!

I instantly became the target of all kinds of barbs and spears chucked my way, but I parried each one with ease and remained resolute, unmoved, and firmly grounded in the truth of the matter. I was even given the nickname the Chief Anti-Wart Activist.

But those wars are pretty much over, though there are still a few lost sheep who still order sports chrono.

LOL. All that you not only are you still standing, but are still here.

I've owned 4 porsches inside 24 months and have now just figgered out what to tick on not tick on them boxes. Luckily I didn't order any of my cars, but bought them already on the dealer lot.

For some reason I've been thinking of a Turbo. On that car Crono may be a must to get that overboost feature.

FWIW, since you brought it up:

I don't like my self dimming mirrors at all. Makes it too hard to see what is behind you in dusk conditions, like if johnny law is lurking behind you in traffic.

Sport Crono, initially loved it, but I find the artifically accelerated throttle tip-in to be a gimmick and makes fine throttle adjustments a challenge

TPMS, I don't have. Love the idea of it but others have said its finnicky.

Park assist, maybe no needed in a car of this size?

Power seats: I have adaptives and think they are a waste. I'd likely think the same of power seats.

Bose sounds terrible, just less terrible than the standard setup. This car really needs a good aftermarket setup. My wifes HK system in the Lexus if worlds better.

I wish I got the fat steering wheel.

edit: the ceramics are freaking awesome, though big dollas
Okaaaaaay!!!

A few more steps to reach the level of needing passive restraints:
-Aluminum Pedals(I like "Ultimate Pedals". Carneval, Ruf,others available) Great match with gray leather.
-Polished SS License Plate Frames
-Porsche logo valve stem caps
-Clear Bra(chips from road debris inevitable)

The list of items necessary to really complete the car never gets shorter. Good Luck.

No, welcome to the club brother. I did many of those things and it gets worse when the car arrives.

I've purchased $1400 in detail supplies (yeah, you read that right), washed the car every week rain or shine (despite the fact it only comes out on sunny days), joined multiple forums and clubs (all for a fee), and even started eyeballing upgrades.

Its a sickness dude and you've just gotten bitten by the bug, and that virus only gets worse with time! From what I hear, it is also incurable.

You should add:

11) Subscriptions to GT Purely Porsche, Total 911, Excellence.
12) Join PCA (if not already)
13) Start initial specs on 997TT or 998.

It's all an expensive sickness. Worse than drugs. While they have Narcotics Anonymous,--there is no 911 Anonymous. Perhaps someone licensed in that sort of thing should start one?

If a Porsche is as bad or worse a thing to be addicted to, and it's your ONLY drug of choice.....not a bad way to live your life IMO.

I'm just a **** for a Porsche. LOL...

Alright!

Another convert delivered from darkness and into the shining light of reason, no doubt as a result of my tireless preaching. Now brace yourself as the forces of evil will surely try to shake your resolve and fill you with doubt and try to drag you back down to the abyss.

But be strong, young man, be strong. Rejoice in your salvation!

May the Force be with you!

Think of it this way; you're not wasting money on drugs, gambling or women,

It's all good
