Finally picked up the 997S coupe - what an amazing automobile! Here are some first pics. Opps, maybe not: apparently the file size is too large to upload. I'm more inclined to go drive than sit here and try to figure out how to fix this, sorry. Trust me, it's beautiful!

So, I've been out driving this incredible machine this evening and I have to say that, aside from the absolute and sheer joy of driving it, I can't believe just how much boy-racer envy it stirs up! I had Corvettes, Mustangs, M3s and every variety of Japanese tricked-out, weekend warrior-types try to race me at every stop light and on-ramp. What's up with that? My 993 seldom brought out that kind of behaviour. Mind you, I did have the Sport Exhaust on at all times, so maybe it's the sound of it that gets them going.....I don't know, but I find it a bit unsettling, because all of a sudden it seems that every other sports car driver thinks I'm gonna **** his bird or something!

Aside from that, all I can say is that this is certainly the greatest car I've ever had the privilage to have driven. It's such a leap from the 993 (I confess to never having driven any 996). I had to force myself to return home tonight as I aimlessly cruised the freeways and streets of Glendale and Pasadena with the windows down and the heated seats on, listening to the sweet rasp of a trailing-throttle PSE whilst snugly ensconsed in a sports seat. Rock on!

Thanks. I'm pleased with the way the interior came out. My only regret is that I didn't order more of the leather or carbon options. Initally, I wasn't even going to order the leather interior, but after seeing it and comparing, I called my sales guy and amended the order to AT. Ideally, Porsche would provide an interior that's befitting of a $100K car, but I guess we live in an a` la carte world.

I agree, more leather interior options or CF would be nice... but it's nothing that can't be added later.
I like it, simple black and white, and hey! there's the roof mounted antenna!
now you just need to stick some black lobster forks on the 993, and they'll really look like a pair!
