Thinking about your car,--what would you do over if you had the opportunity, from what you have learned since you took delivery?
Multiple choices are possible

I may have ordered the X51 option if it were available when my car was ordered but it would have been $20,000 Canadian.
My car is about perfect for me.
Once I get better on the track I think I'm going to pick up another, more track oriented, car.

i would have gotten the sport chrono option, but mine was off the dealer lot so i didnt have that option....also, i would have payed the 7k$ extra to get the 4S cab instead of the S cab...love the wide butt look!!!
I have two "regrets" on my 2006 997S.
I would now get sport chrono now that I know the wart can be removed and a decent patch (speaker grille-type thing) can be put there.
I would now get PSE because the fake "Y" quads on my S bother me. At least the PSE would justify the four pipes.
live and learn... .

Just my observations (as a major lurker for some time) is that the Rennlist should be mandatory reading for anyone who is getting geared up to ordering a 997.
I can say that my list of options grew substantially from how I had started out by realising that many herein have been ADDING things after the fact when generally you could have saved a bit by having it installed during initial fabrication.
It has also helped a lot read about how certain options are performing for their drivers, and ultimately, the photographs have been terrific as seeing things that the Porsche web-site lacks,--detail. What's with the German Porsche configurator? Why is it working while the US one doesn't work well at all? That's one for PCNA to address,--are you listening?
I also like seeing the listing of options on the various cars,--has given me an idea of what can work together and what is possible.

Zilch - I have a launch vehicle - Black/Black C2S with PCCB, full leather, adaptive sports seats, heated seats, NAV, and a bunch of other options and goodies that were added aftermarket, like K40, bluetooth and Huber Optik tint.
Got the car 10 months ago with 1800 miles in perfect shape and paid no sales tax - paid 16k below sticker and it's still perfect today with only 6k miles.

I have a black S launch car; added PSE, short shifter, and a few other goodies. Otherwise, I can't really think of anything I could have ordered that I miss. I love my car!!
Dan, you obviously have the patience of Job and have taken research and planning to the highest level, and will have one very sweet car when it arrives (love the color, too). Maybe someday I'll have that patience and will order one so its just right - but I have a habit of acting precipitously when it comes to cars - hence trading my 5 mo. old 996 for a 997S on launch day, when I just went to see what it looked like!

I love my C4 Cab but I have a question, make that 2 questions. Whoops, 3. I have smallish hands so went with the standard steering wheel. To be honest, I find it "hard" to the feel after a day's driving.
What is the name of the softer/plusher wheel?
Would it work o.k. for smallish hands?
Can it be retrofitted?
Thanks.
