Default Adding heated seats to a 997 afterwards

In my search for a 997 S cab -- I came across a 997 cab that does not have heated seats -- an option I would have difficulty living without.

I'm wondering if anyone knows how difficult it is to add heated seats afterwards on an 06 997, and what the cost would be to do so.

Cheers

plan to spend $1500 to add heated seats. pretty pricey. I'd keep looking unless you're getting a really good deal on the car.

it's not really a GREAT deal..but I was thinking that I might be able to get it to somewhere close, if it only meant adding elements, and not ripping out each seat, entirely.

do you know if the wiring for heated seats is already there, or is it only added to cars with that option

Thanks

wiring is not there as the harness is specifically designed base on how the car was optioned. to add this, new wiring, switch and heat element is needed. there are aftermarket kits you can buy and local upholstry shop to install but that may not work with OEM switches. If you don't care to about the OEM switch, you can do it 500-700 maybe and live with an aftermarket switch on the seat instead of console. to do it like OEM, it's labor intensive and not really worth the hassle. shop another car.

Everything is modular and can be added later. Unless Porsche doesn't want you to (like supposedly Sport chrono).

The wiring harness is probably waiting for the heaters to be plugged in.

Gonna COST you dearly though.

Use this formula:

establish the amount you'd pay but be pi**ed about paying. Multiply that by two or three to get actual cost of retrofit.

Not true. As I stated, the harness is specifically made based on options ordered. It would be much easier if the harness was universal and you just swap seats and add the batwing switches.

Anyone ordering a cab without heated seats at $500 is just not smart. I was pissed to see my 02 delivered without heated seats. I still want it some day and will probly add when I get time to do it myself.
