Default GT3 Anyone?

How many of you who are currently driving a 997 are thinking about a switch to the new GT3? I know I am although I am afraid I am going to miss the option of having the top down.

Very happy with my 997 hardtop with X-51 engine and Bose sound!

I am jumping to the GT3, but I may keep the 997S as well. I have been looking at the Porsche Great Britain car configurator to determine what options would be best. I wish they would offer seal gray, but no such luck. Leaning towards white, arctic silver, or GT silver.

Me too. I really like the GT silver.

That is going to be one hell of a car.

I'm thinking of keeping my 997S and picking up a lightly used, depreciated 996 GT3 next year or the year after.

If you are even trying to decide between these two fine vehicles, you should get the TT without question . . .

it's not possible to make that statement!
they are designed for different users!
the TT weighs 500 POUNDS more than a 997gt3!
there is only 1/10th dif in power to weight ratio.
i ordered a tt and cancelled it after checking out the coming 997 gt3.
i would rather be tossing around less weight vs. more horse power anyday!

That is exactly my point: those two vehicles could not be more dissimilar. The GT3 is "really" for track hounds who want to be able to drive on the street. The TT is for the street, although some owners also take them to the track. They come from opposite ends of the spectrum . . .

Yes to GT3. The only issue is whether it will be plain vanilla or RS. I am waiting for the order guides – or at least some more leaks – to decide.

Hey Jeff

I have been seeing a lot of posts on the Alcantara interior but I can't seem to find any expert opinons on whether or not the Alcantara will really turn shiny after it has been used for a while on steering wheel, seats and shifter. Have you seen any good information? Of course, if Ben is reading this post maybe he will know

Most track ****** would never consider a TT. Most street drivers would consider both, but I would bet nearly anything that they, over time, would appreciate the TT more than the GT3 on the street. Apart from a CGT, which is an entirely different realm, the GT3 is the ultimate current Porsche track car (that is street legal), and the TT is the ultimate current Porsche street car. If he is considering both, he should just go ahead and get the TT, because it indicates that he is not really in the track ***** category, not that there is anything wrong with that.

Is it wrong to be a *****.....I will admit it.

Actually, TT is not really what I am looking for right now.
