Dead or Alive tradition?

Dead or Alive tradition?
It seems that our P-car tradition of Headlight double flash/blink is dead; could it be true that some P-car drivers do not know the tradition of saying hello to fellow P-car drivers? Should I continue the tradition regardless of the negative response or should I just F*** it or wave despite negative feedback?
It’s embarrassing to me when I flash the headlights or wave and get nothing back as a response of good gesture!
Getting tired of initiating the double blink and having the P-car driver look at me as if I was on drugs (speed)!
I understand that flashing your lights means:
- On the left lane (Speed lane) Move over A** H***!
- Slow down speed trap ahead!
- Your lights are on!
But even a courtesy respond with a hand wave or light flash should be appropriate regardless of its meaning!

I agree with you that it is always nice to say hello to a fellow P-car brother or sister!! I have noticed that motorcycle riders are much more friendly towards each other (always giving a wave to a fellow rider) then car owners. I think it is always nice to greet a fellow enthusiast and will continue to do so.

agreed, when i'm on my bike, i ALWAYS give a wave.....much nicer that way
or maybe it's just that we all know we're in such danger with cars on the road that we're saying goodbye on behalf of humanit?

I don't know about high beam flash, but keep waving at 'em. The ones who recognize your Porsche silhouette will respond, the more oblivious won't notice anyway. The split second of recognition you get from a mutual Porschephile compensates for the sandbaggers.

when i first started driving porsche's it was almost 100% that other cars would flash their lights.
i thinks it's a nice tradition that would be great to bring back!
most of the time a wave would not even be noticed inside a car due to glare or any number of reasons.
funny thing is being a motorcycle rider (very little lately) as well, when i'm in the cab with the top down i wave at every motorcycle that goes by. not many wave back though!

On top of that, I only get 50% wave back from Harleys even when I am on my BMW bike. Seems Harleys only wave to Harleys. But we are all having fun on the back roads and a friendly wave is always good and welcome.
