I tried it and it worked!!!!! It must have been another Rennlister in the yellow 996 because he saluted right back. I randomly tried it on some non- p car drivers and it worked as well....probably other Rennlisters in their daily drivers.

Hey, you're copying my John McEnroe post! ... Guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I guess that goes for copying THPorsche's one time avatar too.

Yeah, if you checked out my follow up post to Boolala's comment, that it may well have been an urban legend with the possible exception of a copycat style case.

Actually I still get the odd acknowledgement for driving my 964 Cab around but not the 997 Cs... maybe the car has become too mundane in LA. Really it's nothing special per se... in my neighborhood alone there are 4 Carrera (2 S),6 boxster and 3 Cayman S. However, I'm the only one with a 964 in the neighborhood. Maybe it's cool to go retro LOL
