Default 997S Locked Itself?

I have the habit of leaving my keys on the floor of my car when it is parked in the garage. This morning I went to get in the car to take kids to school and doors the doors were locked with keys in car. The second set of keys are locked up in safe. Has anyone else experienced their car locking itself?

NEVER EVER leave keys in car with windows closed. My car is always buzzing, clicking, humming when parked. I have no idea what it's doing either.

Mine only locks itself if I unlock it and do not open any of the doors afterwards. In the two weeks since it moved in with me, it has never locked itself in the garage.

The car needs an exorcism.

I guess my car is possessed as well. I have noticed that when I unlock the vehicle and then do not open the door within a minute or so the car relocks herself. If I unlock the car and open and close a door (drivers side) the car will sit forever and never automatically relock herself. I think you can personally program your locking options.

I think if you unlock the trunk but not doors, the car relocks itself, and the same if you unlock it but don't open a door within a predetermined period. I'm sure its all in the manual, guess we all need to

It's true.

"Autolock" and regular lock is run by software and it's potential for glitches. So if you leave the keys in the car (or worse: in the ignition) and close the door with the windows up you're doing something risky.

Not like ten years ago when you'd be just fine because the door locks (and other systems) were not massively computer-controlled.

Not sure about the USA but cars in Japan lock themselves within 60 seconds if the key is not in the ignition!
