Default Officially a MY 2007 waiter

I just finished negotiating the purchase of a to be ordered 2007 997S coupe. I attended PDE last week at Barber Motorsports for a proper “test drive” and liked the car. At age 58 this will be my first Porsche.

I ordered Seal Grey Metallic with black full leather, 19” Carrera S rims and caps in the exterior color, self dimming mirrors, Carrera Power Kit, PCCB’s, Sport Chrono, adaptive (and heated) sports seats, thicker three spoke steering wheel, rear center console in leather, leather sun visors, navigation and Bose sound. Now I just need to wait for October.

Congratulations, Pug. When is your expected build date for an October delivery?

I think seal grey is being replaced with Meteor gray for MY07, so maybe you don't want to pay extra for seal grey now that it is a non-standard color.

This early in the game you should be able to get a July/Aug build, despite the 3 week shutdown.

Sweet - sounds like a nice car!

Check out the review I wrote (in my sig) for feedback on some of the options you ordered. That's a great sports configuration that is missing my beloved short throw shifter.

2007 model, Have dealers stoped taking orders on 2006's??

Nice car, but wow you've got to wait till October. I wouldn't want to miss summer with my P car.

Pugnacious, were you quoted a price? I wasn't aware that the dealers knew the MSRP for the '07s yet, or what current options might be standard equipment next year. Any light you could shed on what the '07 comes with, and at what price, would be appreciated.

Sounds great, you should consider the sport shifter a nice option.

it sounds like your car is going to cost at least 110K-have you considered a 997tt?

Great choices..I have the same carbon fiber options in my car. The sills are very cool. I also have the CF multifunction s/w 453, and I really enjot the CF feel as well as the options thew mf wheel offers. It has the only mute button available for a 997 sound system.

Hi Jerry. Love the order, but consider the illuminated side entry guards, they do look sharp. And if I did it all over again besides ordering the X51 which I know is not available at this time, consider the Porsche Crest in the head rest. It's a nice personalization item that distinguishes your car. Other than that congratulations on being a waiter.

Default Almost here!

My 2007 997S is almost here. ETA to San Diego is August 10 so I am hopefully down to the last few days of my wait.

Whoohoo! Absorb yourself into work or just throw in the towel and take the next couple of days off and stay home reading Rennlist, magazines, etc... because this car will dominate your every thought!

To me the last part of the wait, while painful, was the most memorable part of the experience so soak it up!
