With the shortage of the X51 option are people really getting a good discount on those anyway? I can't imagine the "discount" would widen the gap by more than a 2 - 3 K.

Also someone posting recently claimed he got a discount on the TT.

I think the best to go way is get a 997S now and keep for 3 years or so and then get a used TT. By that time the bugs in the TT will be known and I hope fixed. The TT will have a premium when they first hit the show rooms, even after most of the waiters are taken care of.

As my 997 is only a year old that's basically what I plan to do. Let the initial enthusiasm die down, let them work the bugs out and let's see, al least, the short term reliability of the exotic TVG. Then it'll be time for either lease of purchase of a new one.

Well the TT does make for a good reason to buy a tiptronic for the enthusiast. 3.4 secs 0-60 for Tip 3.8 for manual.... this is from the website. Interesting
