This is my third Porsche and you will not go wrong with the coupe. Style and performance with both styles. BTW where do you live?

All down to personal preference-I dont think anyone can advise you.Yes there is a tiny trade off in performance and rigidity getting a cab,but personally I would always have a cab over a coupe-even here in the rainy uk where we get a lot less good weather than some in the US.A good friend of mine would never have a cab over a coupe.

I've had two 911's and both were Cabs. The draw of the cab was irresistable for me, and I still enjoyed the performance the 911 offered.

With that said, I truly love the lines of the coupe and my 997 purchase will be a coupe. I haven't had one yet and want to give it a try. There's no law in my household that says I can't trade it later if I choose

PL: of course you can drive the car as it is ment to be driven. All one needs is the skill and a track. Depending on where one lives will dictate the ability to get to a track. In the Bay area there are at least 3 within reasonable distance (Laguna Seca,Sears Point, Thunderhill)
no track, but i do like the solid feel of coupe....but sunroof and windows open dont give the same open feeling of the convertible...interestingly enough, the cab was just as quiet or even more quiet than the coupe with the top up..i notice d this on several occassions

Grizzy asked the best question to help answer your question; where do you live?

I've owned a 911 coupe and now have the cab.

I must say the 911 coupe looks perfect, the lines, the styling is just about perfect.

The Cabriolet is more fun, on a warm summer night, or a fall day it's almost euphoric... I was thinking about trading mine in for a 997tt coupe, but you know I would really miss the drop top. I think I'll have to get a pre-owned 996tt coupe so I have the best of all worlds.

Very hard choice, get both!!

(We have such difficult life choices don't we?)

I just ordered a Seal Grey C2S Cab. Coming from an '03 Boxster. Love the open air driving although I think the lines of the coupe look better. My vote is for the cab.

here's the most scientific way of determining which is best:

Coupe Cab

eeny meeny
miney moe
catch the
tiger by
the toe
if he
hollars let
him go
eeny meeny
miney moe
my mother
told me
to pick
the very
best one
and the
very best
one is
Y O
U

That should settle it--the coupe wins

maryland, suburban washington d.c....pretty good cab weather april thru october and many days in the winter are in the 50s so the top can go down during the day...a few 90+ degree days in the summer but not many, and summer nights are perfect for cabs unless an occassional thunderstorm hits...

I own a Cab and a Coupe and I must say I prefer the Coupe for a daily driver!!

I get the feeling people are staring inside my car with the top down when driving in town.

I must be too modest or its something much deeper, but lets just leave it at that
