Talking New Baby Due to Arrive Tomorrow

Tomorrow morning at approximately 9:30 a.m. PST, Intercity Lines should arrive with my new baby -- a 2006 black 997S w/factory aero kit and the black/stone gray full leather interior (1300 miles).

Options include: self dimming; heated seats; sport chrono; nav; bose; foot rest alum; and stainless steal exhaust pipes. Clear side markers have already been done. Unfortunately, no power seats.

Suggestions on upgrades are welcome as are all suggestions concerning how to check her out and welcome her home.

Right now, based on your comments on other posts, I am planning on: sport shifter; 7mm spacers; carrera classics; and H&R springs (may be too low, in which case will go Techart). I guess I have to live with the no-power seats.

Did you but this car in Texas? I saw a car that I recall as similar to this online at a Texas dealer last week. I thought it most interesting. In any event, congratulations and enjoy. My car was 'born' this week, and now I have to wait....some more.

Make that 'buy, not 'but'.

Post pics!!

If driveability is of any concern....it may be a bit of a challenge driving around in it's stock form with the Aerokit's reduced approach angle...Let us know how it is.. you may have second thoughts about lowering it!

Yes. I purchased it for about 12% off sticker, which considering the 1,300 miles, I thought was a good deal.

Good luck with the wait.

Congratulations!!!

Obviously, check the car for any paint or delivery damage. Also, inspect the bottom of the car... sometimes the transportation hooks that are attached at the (4) corner pickup points are bent, so not good if you plan to concourse!

Finally, shift the car in forward and reverse a couple of times. Sometimes the gear will not allow reverse until adjusted by the tech.

Let us know how well you keep the front air dam from getting damaged. REMMEMBER always follow the one tire first rule to avoid damage to the front bumper.

All the best and happy motoring!!!

No - can't imagine I will keep it more than a couple of years. Will porbably move over to the GT3 then.
