Just curios to see what latest feedback is on seat wear from time of last post by all.

Also I have 07' C4S with Sport Seats now (Heat & memory position) is it a direct swap if I were to do a Adaptive Sport Seat upgrade? Or do I need "extras"...??

Thoughts?

OP, it sort of depends on your size and shape.

I am 6'5" and 180lbs (pretty skinny) and have a bad back and long legs
I have the regular seats with electronic adjust and memory (including lumbar support)
I use the lumbar support every day
They are the most comfortable seats I've ever had
I have sat in the *** (adaptive sports seats) but don't find much of a difference

My suggestion:
* Sit in your current car's seats for a while and really think about the support
* Go to the dealer and sit in both seats for a while and think about the differences

Personally, I wouldn't spring for the ***, but it's your call.

I have had both the standard seat and the adaptive sport seats in my 997's.

First, seats are very personal, and we must sit in them to tell if our body feels god in them. Some folks sit in the standard seat and it feels just perfect, yet some folks cannot live without the adaptive sport seat.

With above said, one thing I do really like about the adaptive sport seat is its fully adjustable back support. I can adjust the back support to be up, down, closer to my back, away from my back, tigher on my back, wider on my back.

My chiropractor once told me that few adults have a perfect spin, and the adaptive sport seat can be a god sent to our back when driving our Porsche.

Regards,

Hope the OP figured it out by now - post is over 5 years old.

My 06S had the standard seats.
My 11GTS has the adaptive sport seats.
No comparison.
The adaptives are much more comfortable. Worth every penny, IMO.
But, as others have correctly pointed out, seat comfort is very subjective.
Unfortunately, seats are kind of like shoes. Try 'em on in the store, and they feel great. Walk around in them for an entire day, you might start to notice discomfort.
That's why "just sitting in them" at the dealer might not always tell the whole story.

I have two young kids and need to use the back seats quite often. I like the regular SS better than the adaptive I had in the previous car (996) because it is a lot easier to move the seat fore/aft with the manual seats.

True dat.

I wish car seats were a standardized module so you could swap in the one that fits you best. There's no good reason for every OEM to have custom seats. Hell they should be sized like pants, so I can get the right seat for my width/height.

What ever happened to customized manufacturing and just in time product pipelines that we were supposed to have??! The 2000's looked so much better back in the 80's ...

I am no seat expert but have been very happy with the sport seats. Between the adaptive and full leather, I would go for the leather.

My car has the adaptive sport seats. I recently had the opportunity to drive a car with the standard sport seats as a loaner. NO COMPARISON. IMO, the adaptives are much more comfortable and definitely worth the up-charge.

Since I am the only driver (don't need memory) and am more comfortable without the annoying -- to me -- lumbar support, it was an easy decision. Your dealer should probably have a car with sport seats to try that's how I found out what was the best for me.

My favorite option on my C2S no doubt. Worth every penny.

I have Sport Seats and my brother's TT has ***. It's true, the *** are a bit more comfortable. But not worth the price difference, IMO.
