I own a 2005 997 S. In preparation for a future installation of the Factory Aerokit, I had my local Porsche dealer use the PIWIS tester to code my rear wing to be fixed. It no longer goes up and down. The kit is not yet installed and I have found the strangest thing. The engine lid fan is always on, except when the car is off. It is near 40 degrees here in Nor California, so I know the car is not running hot. The radiator fans at the front of the car are not always on, just the lid fan.
So, those with a dealer installed factory aerokit, can you all check and see if your fans are always on, too.
how much did they charge to code the wing to be fixed?
and did they have to change the wiring harness?
I have heard 2 different experiences by people who have added a fixed wing and want to get another one.
so far I have just changed the wiring harness for the aerokit one, the fan only goes on when it is supposed to but i get a warning light at 75mph.
I, too, installed the wiring harness that I got from the dealer. So, I have the car properly coded and the wiring harness installed and the fans blow all the time.
This may be normal, but I have no way to tell except for to ask you all who have the kit.
The dealer did it for free as they were already using the PIWIS connector to code some keys for me.
thanks cp,
I just went down and turned my car on to double check about the fan...
it is actually on with a cold start so I guess it is always on just like yours.
I guess I just never paid attention to this, I will have them look into it when I take my car in for the exhaust recall.
