Default Will your dealer let you postpone?

First, we should find out if the labor negotiations end by May. If so, hopefully all will be fine except that the timing may slip a couple of days due to April slowdowns. If there are continuing negotiations, but production continues, I suspect the dealer will not want to agree to postponement, especially since productions from July on are 2007 models. Also, they union threatened to strike and suggested that no further negotiations will be held. Of course, they may strike another manufacturer and not Porsche. Question is, will that effect Porsche quality?

When will we know for sure if this is going to have an affect on build quality?

Default July builds

so the dealer wouldn't want me to have an 07 model year? Also if July builds are 2007 model year, what differences are to be expected? I've seen nothing on the web about the 07 C2S.

Default New "final" negotiations are ongoing.

See below for most up-to-date news. I suspect this will be resolved one way or another.

Default Good news!

After 18 hours of nonstop negotiations, the labor union IG Metall and the industry association in Germany's largest state (Nordrhein-Westfalen) agreed on a pay raise today. It is expected that the agreement will be adopted by all states, including Baden-Wuerttemberg (where Porsche is located).

Waiters, celebrate!

Thanks for the update! Finally,--a solution. Maybe quality will go UP as workers start to get 3% higher paychecks! My May-June build should be unaffected now.

Good news Kocsis, I really think there will be no slowdown due to April slowdowns. My car just finished being built yesterday. At the beginning of April it had a checkpoint 8 est. date of April 26th, it was moved to April 21st and voila done ahead of time.

That is indeed good news! My checkpoint 8 date was moved from May 2 to April 27.
