to x51 or not(that is the question)

On a price/performance basis can't justify the X51. Power gains are really marginal. I would rather spend the extra cash on some nice options like two tone interior, full leather or just get the TT.

It turns out I was wrong by 10k on the gt3 pricing. [based on the finland pricing pdf the usa price should come in UNDER 105k for the gt3...
At least my name is on the gt3 waiting list at my dealer..

The engine with the X-51 mods seems to breath eaiser - rev eaiser and is just a tad more eager. Almost as if the standard 3.8 was dummied up and the X-51 engine is the real powerplant.
When the S models get there horsepower updates in a few years - since I have my X-51 i won't even bate an eye.

John, where are these track times? Has anyone published performance firgures for the X51 because I haven't seen them. I'd love to see time slips for the base, S and X51.

I will e-mail the guys at PDE and see if they still have them - when I was there last October Harvey was "stop watch" timing a 997S - a 997S-X51 and the then brand newly arrived Cayman.
Granted all tracks are their own animals - the straightaways and coming out of the turns the added torque of the X51 was a pleasnt boost if I remember Haywood correctly...
Then again with X51 you KNOW I'm drinking the cool-aid (check the Cayenne forum for more Kool-Aid info)
