Default option code 740

Does anyone know anything about option code #740-Show Finish? Is this some kind of special paint process. I saw the option listed on a dealer site for a $139,000 C4S cabriolet.

Default While We're At It, How About #741 'Press Finish'

I asked my dealer about both of these and they didn't have a clue.

740 is not a standard PAG public option code.
This car was a display unit in one of the Auto Shows
Generaly they are more highly optioned showcasing Exclusive Options
One difference is that the license plate holder in the front is painted in Body color

The other code that pops up is on a pre-configured launch cars:Option 762 - PAG Code - Launch code

Similar story would be for 741.
Finish has nothing really to do with the Paint but how the cars are configured...For show, for Press..
A pre-defined option list configured by PAG

Thanks MJones,
The car was highly optioned with lots of red trim. Red exterior, black full leather. I would love to see a picture of that one. The Speed Yellow above is gorgeous. Is that a C4S?

Wow, that's hot! Check out the painted seatbacks. Do you have any pics of a similar car in Guards Red?

Maybe option code #740-Show Finish is the charge for colorsanding away the orange peel for a perfect show car finish? I wonder if that car came from an auto show, and the cost of colorsanding was added to the price of the car by way of this option code.

They are no different than the cars we buy.
Just a pre-defined option list configured by PAG, that is why most cars seen in the press are of similar color / configuration.

There are no additional charges for these option codes
740, 741, 762

They are just PAG predefined option codes for various purposes.

Guess you could say that code is "No Charge" but the options included are

I wonder if these coded cars have an impact on value being that they are special.

maybe but don't expect to see any additional value because it's a show car until you auction it in 40 years....
often it means stuff has been stolen off the car, like *****, gear shifters, etc....

It would seem that any car built for show would have a superior finish.
