My wife has driven our 997 many times. I also have three sons over 20 and they have all driven it but with me in the car. No wonder they are always hanging around the house...Yikes....-

Any other caveats you'd like to add to your daughter driving the car.....given the above, she's more likely to see Haley's Comet than get behind the wheel

I let my brother drive my car in the first week I had it, as I have with every car I have owned. He is an excellent driver and can totally appreciate the car. Anyone else? I don't think so.

I don't have a problem letting someone drive my car provided they have experience. I let tnunnery drive mine on the day I picked it up from the dealer. He went with me on the new purchase test drive. I had seen his car and it looked perfect after 4 months and I knew he would be fine. I let the fast banana's owner drive it that same weekend. He has plenty of experience with Porsche. I let my wife drive it and she attempted (by accident) to start off in 3rd gear from a complete stop. It sent a rattle through both me and the motor that I don't know if I will ever recover from.

I voted no one, but I let a Porsche friend drive it like 2 days after I bought the car. He owns a 996TT, and an old 930 Turbo. I asked him if he knows how to drive stick and he gave me a dirty look. BTW his 996TT is a Tiptronic. We get out of his driveway and go to the first traffic light. He stalls the car in the middle of a major intersection and can't refire the car since he didn't put the clutch in. Mind you we almost got rearended by a large truck. I will never let him drive my car again. In fact I'll just drive the car myself, it's safer that way

I have been begging my wife to drive it so she can appreciate the beast and have a bit of understanding why guys like me are so fanatic about the car. She won't drive it!
All of my friends have driven it and everyone is drooling over it. That makes me feel justified spending 91k for a toy that sits in the garage 25 days out of the month.
