RAKLAW, can you post a side view of your car so I can get a better look at the wheels?

Default Back in Black

This is my 5th black car and I have no regrets. I am not OCD about it. I have a california duster which I use to get the dust particles off the car when they are noticeable. I do go to hand washes every 10-14 days and I have it detailed 1x/2 months. I deliberately park away from others, trees, and any location that large birds hang out. I am sure that the OCD crowd would think that my cars are dirty.... but most, including me, think they look great. In my opinion black on black is so classy and never tires. Personally I love guards red but I could see tiring very quickly if it was a daily driver.

Get black on black you will have no regrets whatsoever.

California Duster? ARGH...just as bad as that california wiper...lol.

I used it...once. Then saw the marks it made in paint and I gave it away.

Black on a Porsche is like black "on" a woman: beautiful curves, wide hips, fast and tempermental!

Thanks Raklaw, I like the Carrera Sports much better than the lobster forks that came on my car.

As far as the color Black goes, I'm sure this will be my first and LAST black car. Just too hard to keep as clean as I would like it to always look, and rock chips really show up white against the black paint. GT silver will be my first choice formy next car.

when you guys say black is hard to keep clean, does that go for basalt black as well?

Difference between atlas and seal is what exactly? Is altas more grey and seal more silver?

thanks

basalt is easier to keep in ''good'' shape since it's matallic. it won't show the imperfection i.e. swirl marks like black. however, the problem is a clean basalt car will never look as good as a clean black car. black has that deep shine others don't have... that makes the basalt look dusty even when its clean.

seal is much lighter than atlas & it's pure grey compare to altas' blue hue. i'd say from grey scale 1 to 10 seal is like 5 while atlas is like 8.5 besides the blue tint.

hope this help!

thanks it sure does..
I had a 95 nsx in black and was never able to get rid of the swirls.. The previous owner must have not taken very good care or washed/waxed it with dirty rags..
My next p-car is going to be either basalt, black, seal or atlas.. I do like the GT silver but looks a little too similar to artic to me (not a bad thing) i've seen too many silver cars around.. Shoot, my ML is silver..

nothing beats a clean black car but sure nothing can keep it perfect, no way! the more u try to take the swirl away the more clearcoat u're taking away, as simple as that. i enjoy looking at other peoples black car but not my cars.

after owning a GT silver car it kinda really makes the arctic plain. GT silver has that nice shade & depth arctic doesn't have. however, is that worth 3k as a color option? to each of his own. seal is really nice & awfully popular. it never gets old but never shines like black, white or any pure color...

well, life is never perfect.

I did a search for California Duster Tips and got no hits. Do you still have a link to that thread?

Nevermind, I found it - I shortened my query to Duster and got it:
