Basalt black adds some uniqueness to its "color" over regular black.

But either way, black is just bad *** in any variation.

This is why I like Midnight Blue. In average lighting it looks near black, but in the sun it pops a cool blue metallic color (see the contrast in the pictures below taken the same time of day on one overcast and one sunny day).
