Thanks for that fluid15 I really plan on getting a Porsche (any Porsche) for the Audobon, I will leave messages on how it goes

I am really interested in Munich, I am a 3'rd generation German living in USA with relatives in Munich I have never meet!!

Part of my excursion is to meet them

Thanks Soulteacher, I am going to get my travel agent onto this!

This is an ancestral voyage as well as a Porsche journey, I should be in heaven by Oct

Rbennett your wife is a keeper.
sorry---this info may be redundant, I just read Soulteacher's info above, here is some add'l--I'm working on doing last minute off-peak fare with my wife to Geneva auto show during first week of March.... these cities aren't on the Rhine, but Avis 50+ locations in Germany.

Call center op said 'carrera coupe', I don't know what daily rate but this price is total for 3 days including collision+liability+theft insurance and unlimited miles: pickup Stuttgart airport = USD $633,
Frankfurt airport= USD $754.

Avis int'l number 1-800-331-1084. A tip if you call, even though I called int'l resv number, the U.S. rep took 15 min. of coming up empty on any Germany Porsche rentals before her supervisor intervened & found the separate category on the "International help index">>"FLEET">>"Germany LUXURY/PRESTIGE" thank God she finally found it.

Sounds like they are using 997 models-- check this article

Not 70+ yet but gaining on it Actually I still have the mindset of a 17 year old.

The wife is pretty terrific; ultra low maintenance and like you, recognizes that I may only have a few chances left. What she doesn't know is I lied about my age

HAHA. LOL. The shock of recognition. At least generally. My wife sez the same things but not outloud to people. She also sez stuff like , "Awwwww, why didn't you get the turbo?" when she figured out the different models after I came home with the car.

What's probably equally similar? When I got past break-in we went for a drive. I got that thing up to about 140 mph. I say, " Hey Honey! WOW! 1-4-0! Cool huh?" She's still flipping thru her magazine, doesn't even look up and sez, "That's nice dear."

Yeahhhhhhh, we're a couple of blessed married guys.

Let's face it, most women look at cars differently than do men. Most women look at cars as a device to get them safely and comfortably from point A to B. My wife falls into this category. As a VP at a large investment institution, she makes enough money to comfortably buy a new 997S. As a matter of fact I had her take a look at a 996 C4S a couple of years ago and she was really interested in the car. The show stopper for her was the 996's small luggage space. How many men consider luggage space when buying a 911?

You mean we are supposed to be able to take luggage in our cars?

I call my guests ahead. I tell them the dimensions of the front luggage compartment. I tell them if they want me to pick them up at the airport in thr Porsche they better choose luggage that will fit. Everybody complies readily and whole heartedly. Luggage problem? What luggage problem?

Nah, I don't mention them. I figure, the back seats is where we toss whatever guests (friends/ family) were thinking they'd carry in their laps. Is that wrong?
