911 through the decades
If you could list one 911 from each decade, which would it be?
Mine:
60's - 1967 S (love the short wheel base)
70's - 1977 3.0 Euro (anyone can have a RS or an S, besides my first 911 ride was in one of these)
80's - 1989 930
90's - 993 C2S (Turbo look, without the Turbo cost)
2000's - 996 GT3
What are all of yours?

Darn good choices Jay. As for me I would select the following
60's - Late 60's E or S
70's - '73 911 S (my 2nd P-car) or the 2.7/2.8 Ducktail RS or the '74/75 930
80's - I was in the wilderness and lost my Porsche way
90's - I agree, 993C2S
2000- 997S, what else. To me the greatest production Porsche ever

60's - 1968 911S Soft window Targa
70's - 1973 RSR replica
80's - 1989 turbo
90's - 993 C4S (Turbo look, without the Turbo cost - but unlike the C2S with the turbo brakes and AWD)

There is a fellow out west who AX his '68 911L soft window Targa and cleans up like you wouldn't believe. I wonder why Porsche only made 1 year of the soft window, in my mind it would have taken off and been very popular. Best wishes - Jay

The soft rear window shrunk over time (in the sun) and was virtually impossible to rezip up over time. That's really why they went on to the targa window.

When you put it like that it makes sense. That also makes me think twice about where I park my Wrangler! Thanks for the post. Best wishes - Jay
PS - It is still a good looking post.
