alpine nav upgrade
On most 2002+ vehicles we can do a full PCM upgrade with a new alpine navigation iPod dvd in motion Bluetooth stream audio and hands free Sirius all touch screen with keeping the factory Bose system fully operational and retain Steering wheel controls for around 2500.00. Just an idea and it controls iTunes and pandora via stream audio.

I've got to ask. Who on the east coast / New England can perform the same work that DelRayCustoms is doing? I've got a 2007 911 that would LOVE satellite and bluetooth, I would not mind it either

I have read all this about the XM radio install - so at what point or year did Porsche put the satellite ready stereo in the car from the factory? Are they in the 2009 model? Anyone know? -

I installed an Alpine head unit in my car about a year ago. Mounted the antenna under the plastic cowl near the wipers. Sat radio drops out frequently, much more than any other car i have owned. I am ready to cancel the service it is so annoying
Does not seem that there is a "sat radio booster" that one can install inline
So: Where else to mount the antenna? Will it help?

SiriusXm Antenna "Fixed" by La Jolla Audio
I had an aftermarket stereo, nav, bluetooth installed and it wasn't done right where I purchased and had installed. I went to La Jolla Audio and they showed me the dramatic errors that were created on the first install. They cleaned up the mess and my Sirius pumps clearly with no cutouts.
The gps and siriusxm antenna were First placed on the driver side under a metal bracket. The proper setup should be passenger side under the plastic/nylon piece directly under the wiper. The installer should take the time to place and ground the gps and antenna directly Under the wiper, this takes an extra 30 just to remove the plastic piece...
I now have No cutouts after having my radio cutout every 45 sec - 1min. I "used" to have to run Pandora and Sirius through my bluetooth... that sucks because i would have to be on my phone to change.
Bottom Line: go to an installer that takes their time and doesn't cut corners. If you are near San Diego, just go to La Jolla Audio (sorry for the plug, but these guys are the best).

Since this is a sticky and alternatives are good. Member Texrex2 came up with a way to add Sat radio for about $80 and an hour of your time. Its about as hard to change brake pads........in other words easy peasy. In a nutshell its the Sirius reciever, sat antenna and a special cable that tapps into your FM antenna in the back of the PCM. You tap power from the cig lighter in the passenger footwell. Turn it on and find the radio station on your stock radio where the XM signal is the strongest.

Below is an image of how it looks with OEM integration on the PCM.
